What do I get in 1/2 pork?

This is a common question for us to try to answer “How much meat is half a pork? What does that look like?”

To help in answering, we’ve put this post together however because each pig is a bit different size and you can choose how the pork is processed, what you put in your freezer may be a bit different than the details below:

This side of pork was 81.5 lbs and included sausages and cured meats, which have extra costs so this side was $563.80*, processed into the following cuts:

- 3 shoulder roasts
- 5 pkg of 2 porkchops
- 1 strip of spareribs
- 3 pkg of 2 cutlets
- 8 pkg of dinner sausage (4 per pkg)
- 4 hams
- 8 pkg of bacon
- 3 pkg of back bacon
- 3 pkg of cured hocks
- fat for rendering into lard

As mentioned - there are some different cuts you can choose from and can choose to get more/less curing and sausages done and that will impact the overall price of the pork but we hope this example gives you an idea of what you might be putting in your freezer when you order a 1/2 pork from us.
